About Me

Well met! Welcome to my website. Some of my hobby projects are found from here. I am a biomedical engineer with a Master's degree in Information and Electrical Engineering from Tampere University. I have a passion for health and wellness, and I believe that technology will (and does) play a significant role in improving healthcare and preventing diseases and injuries. Since January 2023, I have been working as a Technical Product Specialist at Planmeca, a leading company in dental imaging and software products. I provide technical support and training on Planmeca's X-ray devices and software to our dealers around the world. I also develop tools using Python to enhance the technical support workflow and device troubleshooting. Previously, I worked at Huawei Technologies, where I was involved in wearable health technology projects, in which my responsibilities included physiological measurements, data analysis, and algorithm development. Some of my core competencies include signal processing, machine learning, bio-optics, and physiological measurements. I have experience with various biosignals, such as PPG, SCG, ECG, EMG, and EEG. I am proficient in programming languages, such as Python, Matlab, Kotlin, and C#, and platforms, such as Android and SQL. I enjoy learning new skills and technologies, and I am open for new challenges and opportunities.

Experience

Planmeca Oy

Technical product specialist

Providing technical support on Planmeca's X-ray imaging devices (ProMax, Viso, ProOne, ProSensor, ProX) and software products (Romexis) around the world. Also, preparing and providing hands-on technical training on the imaging devices. Preparation and releasing technical bulletins. Development of tools (mainly with Python) to improve technical support workflow and device troubleshooting. After Sales team.

Huawei technologies

Several positions

•2022 - Biosignal testing and processing engineer
•2021 - Health technology intern / Master's thesis worker
•2020 - Summer Trainee

Huawei was my first "real" workplace, and I have fond memories of the people in there. The workload was sometimes guite high, but the work itself was super cool, fun and interesting. I worked in the wearables team, focusing on possible biosensing and HMI applications. During my time in Huawei I got good experience in algorithm development and biosignals such as PPG, EMG, ECG and EEG.

Tampere University

Teaching assistant

I was a TA on the course "Introduction to signal processing". When teaching others about a thing is when one learns the most itself.

Education

Tampere University

Aug 2019 - Feb 2022

Master's degree, Information and electrical engineering

Major: Biomedical Engineering
Minor: Signal Processing

134/120 ECTS (GPA: 4.22)

Top grade (5) from Master's thesis.

Technische Universität Graz, Austria

Aug 2019 - Mar 2020

Master of science, Half-year exchange period

Projects

Biosensing

I have been interested in vital signs measurement for a while. In my biosensing hobby projects I have aimed at getting more hands on experience on the signal acquisition and processing in real time.

View Projects

Medical imaging

Medical imaging, especially X-ray imaging related hobby projects. These have helped me a lot in geting into my work at Planmeca.

Game dev

I have had some fun learning game development with Unity. Have a look! Game developement in Unity is the way I got most of my C# experience and object based programming.

Publications

PPG artifact removal with wrist EMG

A research paper on how wrist electromyography (EMG) can be used as movement artifact reference along with accelerometer (ACC) to get better heart rate (HR) estimates from wrist photoplethysmogram (PPG) during movement activities.

Skills

Strava

I like to do a little running during my free time. Been comparing different devices with each other to determine how accurate their heart rate tracking are during exercise. Have a look!
